Which One Wednesday...Boy Colors!

We're back to a color challenge for this week's W.O.W!  We want you to break out the boy colors.  Now, you don't have to make a boy themed card or even have a boy on it, we just want you to steer your color/paper scheme more towards the male end of the spectrum ;0)

I used Oliver from the new and adooooorable Oliver and Amelia "Surprise" set.  He's fun because he's so stinkin' cute (as per usual) AND he's super versatile because he could be for any occasion you give someone a gift for.

The W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday; entries are due by 12 PM CST.

The winner is chosen by random draw and wins a free digi of choice!

Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > Boy Colors

Stamps - TGF Oliver and Amelia 'Surprise'

Sweet November Preview - Cinder

Along with the beautiful princesses, Amy has created 3 lovable fairy tale creatures for us: unicorn - Meadow, pegasus- Breezy and dragon- Cinder.  Today I've used Cinder to create a quick and easy boy/guy birthday card! He's just adorable isn't he? Don't know if his smoke is supposed to look like a heart or not, but that's what I did with it :0)

The princesses and fairy tale creatures will be available at All That Scraps on January 3rd. Make and check out Amy & Traci's blogs for some more great previews :0)

This week at ATS we want you to create cards for Men! Cards for boys, guys, girly men, etc will do, just as long as it's "dude" themed.  I used this fabulous new Ian from The Greeting Farm that I bought at ATS, he makes a great basic card that can be used for a birthday or other such occasion.

Oliver card + Copic Tutorial and CMC Challenge!!!

This new Oliver and Amelia set by The Greeting Farm is really one of my all time favorites, I broke it out and used it the second I got it! I used Oliver to make this monochromatic black and white card because as soon as I saw him I thought of a vintage black and white photo.  It also happens to go PERFECTLY with the ATS Wednesday challenge this week, which is "monochromatic".

I actually made a black and white coloring tutorial for Color Me Copic too, scroll down or click HERE to see it and to take part in CMC's very first challenge which TGF has sponsored.  The winner will get this new Oliver and Amelia "Journey" set!!

The Tutorial
You can use any color of grays that you like, I tend to use the "C's" but neutral and warm grays will work just fine.  For this image I'm using C1, C3, C5, C7, C9 and 0 (Colorless blender).  Ignore the 110, I didn't end up using it :0)

Last step and finished image!

Used the finished image on this card so you can see how it looks :0)

Soldier Ian - Father's Day

Made this card for my husband for Father's day since he's our everday hero.
I made the beige and green patterened background papers by using some clear star stamps and clear plane stamps with my Versamark watermark ink pads.  LOVE this technique and I haven't used it in forever.
I also paper pieced Ian's ABU's (fatigues) with some camo paper I had.  They look a lot my husband's current uniform, including the green boots :0)

Entering this into the #43 challenge, "One for the boys" at A Crafty Little Place

Ingredients:
TGF Stamp - Soldier Ian
Clear stamps + Versamark Ink
White gel pen
Black eyelets
Card Candy
Glossy Accents (goggles, stuff on vest)

Altered Jeremy - Get Sketchy Challenge

The challenge on "Get Sketchy" this week was to make a shaped card and a bonus challenge of making a spring card.  I thought this fit the bill on both!

I love, love, love Jeremy (AKA Emmett) that TGF put out a couple of months ago, but he looked a little angry, so through the wonders of copying and pasting I gave him Flirty Edwards eyes.  I think they suit him much better!

Used the new Labels 10 Nesties (how COOL are these??) I got from Glenda.  No, I don't work for Glenda, lol, I just think her  prices and customer service can't be beat and that's hard to find.

Ingredients:
TGF Limited Edition Digi Image - Jeremy (Flirty Edward's Eyes)
Copics
Nestabilities - Labels 10
My Minds Eye Paper - Just Dreamy

Happy "Bird-day!"

Saw some adorable digis at the "Pink Cat Studio" yesterday and since I am a cupcake-aholic I decided this one was too cute to pass up!  It's a new favorite of mine, love the little birdies and of course, the giant cupcake ;0)

Colored this image last night but was totally stumped for a layout until I saw Jodi's post today. I already had the circle and scalloped circle cut out and I just borrowed elements of her layout and it finally came together.  Thanks for the inspiration, Jodi!

Enjoy!

Used:
Pink Cat Studio digi image
Copics
DCWV paper - (Old summer stack)
EK Success birthday candle punch (you can barely see it)
Autumn leaves "ticket" stamps

Club Anya "Mystery Monday" Challenge

I am pretty much spending 90% of my "free" time studying and working on papers now so not much time for crafting :0( However, the challenge at Club Anya this week was to make stars the focal point of the card. I did a football player card awhile back that I just loved but I really had wanted to try it again and make it perfect so this was a great opportunity!

I was really pleased with how it came out, I didn't dork anything up at all for once, though the glossy accents on the stars did NOT photograph well! I found this great font that actually had little stars on the ends so I just had to use it too.

Used:
TGF Stamp - Football Ian
Copics
Cricut - George Cart (stars)
Cuttlebug embossing folder - Swiss Dots
Computer generated sentiment (font is LD Star Serif)

My Man Ed

I have been doing A LOT of reading for school this week (which I think will be a pattern for my classes!) and I needed a creative break. I just love this little guy, he's my 'go to' when I want to color something quick and fun. I spent a lot of time staring at this card wanting to add something but I couldn't figure out what so I left it as is.

Used:
The Greeting Farm stamp - Edward
Copics
Cuttlebug folder - Distressed Stripes
Distress Ink - Vintage Photo (green pieces), Tea Dyer (base color)
Card Candy pieces

SO HAPPY! Football Ian #2

Colored this little guy last night but was having problems coming up with card layout. Got to thinking about how I've seen numerous "lacing" cards lately with eyelets and ribbon and then it popped into my head that I could make some football laces! It was a huge, giant pain in the arse and the paper isn't perfect in that corner but for a first try I was very happy :0)

Used:
The Greeting Farm stamp - Football Ian
Copics
CB embossing folder - Swiss Dots
Cricut cart - George and Basic shapes (stars)
Distress Ink - Tea Dye, Vintage Photo
Glossy Accents (#10, stars)
Stickles - Cinnamon
