Farm Fresh Friday - A Fond Farewell

Well, it's that time.  Time to say goodbye to the current Challenge DT and usher in some new and fabulous ladies.  (This is Rachel) I think I can safely speak for all of us and say that while we are sad to go we are SO glad that we got to have so much fun with all of you guys for the last 6 months!  We hope you've enjoyed all of our challenges and samples and while we may not be posting on the blog multiple times a week, I'm sure you'll still see us out and around TGF land :0)  We love you guys!

This week's FFF challenge is a farewell of sorts.  We each picked a favorite card from a fellow DT member to CASE and we want you to do the same thing!  CASE one of the fab FFC DT members' cards, it can be anyone you like from during our term or before.  Can't wait to see which ones stood out to you!

Farm Fresh Friday - Piece it Together

This week should be easy peasy!  All you have to do is Piece It Together...otherwise known as paper piecing ;0)  You can piece as little or as much as you want as long as we see somethin'.

There isn't a ton to piece on Babette but I pieced her dress a bit and then colored on it to give it a little depth.  Used the fab sentiment "Just Because" she came with too, it's even written in a cute font!

The FFF challenges runs until Thursday, entries are due by 12 PM CST.

The winner will receive a free single TGF stamp of choice!

Madelynn Bookmark

I'm ashamed to say I haven't broken this TGF cutie out in TOO long!  Made a bookmark and I've decided that I like doing bookmarks so much because they are fun, useful and believe it or not...challenging! You don't have a lot of space to work with and you have to keep the embellies flat, so despite the fact that they would seem easy they're really not.

Thought this would work for:
ATS - Anything But a Card
TGF - Monday Mania (book inspired)

Ingredients:
Stamp - The Greeting Farm Twinkle Tots (Madelynn)
Copics
Paper - Tim Holtz
Punch - EK Success Scalloped Diamond, Martha Stewart Photo Corner
Embellies - Misc button/ribbon, Stickles

Anya Ink Challenge - Embossing!

I'm a guest DT member at Anya Ink this week and the challenge is to use embossing.  Not hard for me, I lllllllove my Cuttlebug!

Used my new "Big Scalloped Circle" nesties too, I really love how they look!  I wanted to add that I ordered my new nesties (you'll be seeing a lot of them, they are just too cute) from Glenda @ Glenda's Creative Place.  A lot of us shop online and service can sometimes be "iffy" so when I find some place great I like to share the news. I had ordered from her in the past and wanted to share her site with you because her prices are great and her customer service can't be beat :0)

Ingredients:
TGF Image - Owl from "Forest Friends" set
Copics
DCWV paper
Nestabilities - Circle, Big Scalloped Circle Lg
Birds and Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder
Card Candy

Naughty fairy?

I won this digi stamp from the TGF fairy contest (thanks Marie!) and have been so busy I haven't been able to use her yet, despite having colored her like a week ago.  I think she's just beautiful, her name is "Vanity" but I call her Naughty Fairy ;0)

PS: Be careful with glossy accents over black shading, it made the wings look weird for some reason.  Won't do that again!

Used:
TGF Digi Fairy - Vanity
Copics
Nestabilities - Mega Curved Rectangle & Circle
Heart brads
Pearls
Primas
Glossy Accents/Stickles (wings and bodice of dress)

2 more! CA&F NYD Challenges...cont.

lub Anya and Friends (CA&F) is having a New Year's Day (NYD) challenge and I just HAD to participate b/c the challenges are awesome!

This card is for challenge #12 which is to use ribbon.  I suck at tying bows but Traci (aka WickedPixie) clued me in about the "Bow Easy" and now I'm a bow making fiend, lol! Also broke out my "Leave it to Weaver" punch to add a little lacing detail :0)

The next card is for Melyssa's "Tag You're It!" #6 challenge.  Needed a card for a friend's upcoming birthday so this was the perfect opportunity.  Right now the tag says Happy Birthday but eventually there will be a gift card attached instead of that.

Leave It to Weaver punch

Card #2

Miss Madelynn

Got sweet Miss Madelynn a few weeks ago and haven't tried her out yet so here she is!  The weirdest thing happened though, when I was coloring with my Y38 Copic marker it started dripping ink! That's never happened before, and I have no clue what was up, it looked perfectly fine.  It soaked her scarf that I was coloring though, but I think I was able to salvage it.  Miss Amy sent me a duplicate YG25 marker which I promptly put to use on this card, I really think the colors go together well (thanks again!).

Forgive the less-than-stellar lighting yet again, Santa is bringing me an Ott Lite for Christmas (Mrs. Claus ordered it herself, smart lady that she is) so hopefully that'll be the end of my horrible lighting issues.  Or at least the end of my excuses for it ;0)

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

Used:
TGF Stamp - Madelynn (Twinkle Tots)
Copics
Stickles
Primas

First Fairy Card

While these beautiful fairies weren't really my "thing" when they first came out at TGF, they grew on me and this girl is my total fave.  They are so much fun to color too!

(If the swirly things in the background look a bit odd it's because it's silver + reflective which = hard to photograph!)

Used:
TGF Digital stamp - Fairy
Copics
DCWV paper - Blossoms and Butterflies
Martha Stewart Butterfly punch
EK Success/American Girl butterfly border punch
Stickles
Glossy Accents (wings)

One of those days

I love this little lady, she looks like I think a lot of SAHM's and women in general feel at the end of the day. I didn't embellish this too much b/c I thought the paper was so pretty I didn't want to cover it up.

Btw, I really, REALLY hate sizing my horizontal cards down, it makes them look weird. If anybody has any tips, let me know!

Used:
TGF Stamp - H&G Laundry Girl
Copics
Stickles
DCWV paper - Blossoms & Butterflies (I think...)
Martha Stewart corner punch - Loop
Martha Stewart butterfly punch
